⚡ Burst/Ratchet Effects

The most unique feature in MPSeeker! Burst effects create rapid-fire drum hits within a single step, perfect for snare rolls, hi-hat flourishes, and dynamic rhythms.

  • Choose burst amount: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 6x
  • Step turns orange/red with burst indicator
  • Right-click again to remove burst
  • Spacebar: Start/stop playback (when not typing in fields)
📱 Mobile
  • Click the "⚡ BURST" button (turns purple)
  • Tap any active step to set burst amount
  • Choose: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 6x
  • Burst mode automatically turns off
  • Repeat to add more bursts

💡 Pro Tip: Burst Effects

Try adding 3x burst to snare on beat 4 for classic drum rolls, or 2x burst on hi-hats for shuffle feels. Experiment with different burst amounts on different tracks!

🎨 Pattern Creation Workflow

1. Start with the Kick

Click steps 1, 5, 9, 13 for a basic four-on-the-floor pattern, or try 1 and 7 for hip-hop style.

2. Add the Snare

Typically on steps 5 and 13 (beats 2 and 4). This creates the classic backbeat.

3. Build Hi-Hat Patterns

Add hi-hats on off-beats for drive. Try every other step or experiment with burst effects.

4. Layer Additional Sounds

Use claps to double snares, open hats for accents, rim shots for subtle percussion, and toms for fills.

5. Add Effects and Variation

Use global effects to polish your sound, then create patterns B and C for verse/chorus variations.

🔧 Advanced Features

Per-Pattern Sound Design

Each pattern (A/B/C) can have different sounds, pitch, and decay settings:

Pattern Chaining

Enable "Chain" to play patterns in sequence: A → B → C → A. Perfect for creating full song structures with verse, chorus, and bridge sections.

Copy & Paste

Copy any pattern and paste to a specific pattern or ALL patterns at once. Great for creating variations quickly.

💾 Saving & Exporting

Save Your Work

Use "Save" to store beats in your browser. Beats are saved locally and persist between sessions. Use "Load" to access saved beats.

Important: Local save/load preserves patterns, sounds, and burst effects, but global effects settings are not saved. For complete preservation including effects, use Export/Import instead.

Export Audio

Click "Export" to render your beat as audio:

💡 Pro Tip: Exporting

Export 2-4 loops for most uses. Single loops are great for sampling, while 8 loops work well for longer compositions or background music.

🔍 Troubleshooting

Audio Issues

If you can't hear audio, check your device volume and make sure MPSeeker has permission to play sound. On mobile, try tapping the screen first to enable audio context.

Performance

For best performance, close other browser tabs and apps. MPSeeker works best with modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox).

Saving Problems

Beats are saved in your browser's local storage. Clearing browser data will remove saved beats. Always export important beats as audio files.

Coming Soon: NFT implementation will allow you to mint your beats as blockchain-based collectibles, providing permanent storage and proof of ownership on the Solana network!
